Turning on the G.A.S. Saves the Green

Gas PumpWant to find out how your store can get an immediate, noticeable decrease in monthly gas expenditures? G.A.S. (Gas Approval System), a software program from eDealership, is now available to Sonic Automotive dealerships. It helps validate and reduce total gas usage through accountability and control.

Dealerships spend thousands each month on gasoline but have limited time or means to manage or reconcile these expenses. This is where G.A.S. steps in to bring a dealer's gasoline accounting under control. By automating management tools and processes, this user-friendly system can find and fix expensive leaks in the dealership process.

G.A.S. is web-based, making it easy to implement and use. It automates the dealership's gasoline purchase process, eliminating error, waste and fraud. There is a $199 one-time customization fee and a monthly fee of just $219, making it very affordable.

Currently nine Sonic dealerships utilize this tool to control gasoline expenses, with one store—Baytown Ford—recording an average monthly savings of 49.92%!

Tasha Harvey, Controller for Baytown Ford, has been impressed with the solution from day one. "The gas system has been great," she commented. "We did two things. First we implemented the G.A.S. system, which provided us with a clear, easy and manageable process. No one has gas cards except the receptionists, and a signed purchase order must be provided back to her before she releases the card."

"Second," Harvey continued, "we have issued all our sales associates an individual PIN from the gas vendor. This is just a secondary backup control, but it has worked well, also."
